Many business owners are currently facing the difficult decision of which tool or software to choose. Below you can read the perspective of Javier García, Project Manager at Trowel.
How do you see the current situation in the sector?
From what our clients tell us, everyone is slammed with work and experiencing a clear boom — especially in renovations and refurbishments, driven in part by the circumstances created by the current situation. Even though we all hope the pandemic ends as soon as possible, it has at least triggered an extra push to improve in many companies.
What advice would you give to a business owner who wants to start a change or is in the middle of one?
It is essential to get properly informed and make sure that the tool or software you decide to use has a clear purpose and fits your organization. Every company is different, and not all software or apps are right for every business.
What is the key to making the right choice?
Every department and every person in the company — from the least senior to the most senior — should benefit and save time. If that criterion is not met, new problems can arise or the disorganization can end up worse than it was before.
Any other important ingredient?
Yes — give clients a starring role. There is a lot you can do for them before they even see the result of their project…
What sets Trowelapp apart from the competition?
In construction projects there are constant changes, some of which affect everything at every level. Often that information only reaches one or two people within a reasonable timeframe, which is a major problem. Being able to capture information and share it instantly is critical — and that is exactly what Trowel delivers.
To wrap up: governments have a big role to play in the shift to the digital world. What would you say to them?
Invest in digital skills training at every age group and for all kinds of people, because we need everyone — regardless of their skill level — to feel included in that transition.
